April Reading Goal: One chapter book, one biography and one science non-fiction.
This week and next, we are focusing on review skills in reading, math and science to prepare the students for the upcoming FCATs and allow them to feel confident and comfortable going into a testing situation. Some suggestions for home are:
- Continue using FCAT Explorer and Focus lessons for Reading, Science and Math
- Review science content, using both text and science notebooks. Suggested areas to review are: plant parts and function (notebooks), weathering vs. erosion (notebooks), body organs and functions (book and notebook), forms of energy and energy transformations (books and notebooks.)
The testing schedule is:
Monday, April 16 – Reading
Tuesday, April 17 – Reading
Wednesday, April 18 – Math
Thursday, April 19 – Math
Friday, April 20 – make up testing only
Monday, April 23 – make up testing only
Tuesday, April 24 – Science
Wednesday, April 25 – Science
Testing begins shortly after 8:00 each day, so please make every effort to have students come to school on time, as they cannot be admitted into the classroom once the test has started.
** Picture day is this Wednesday – please send back order envelopes if you would like to order.
Finally, I really enjoyed reading all of the Young Author books that were submitted. I am so proud of the work that my class did and the effort that went into making great books. I expect that some of them will become famous authors some dayJ
