Spring Break begins on March 24, 2014. All students will return on Monday, March 31, 2014.

Our 1st grade play is THIS THURSDAY at 6:00 p.m. Don't forget to have your child here at school in our classroom at 5:45p.m. Remember have your child wear his/her class shirt and jeans or shorts. If you have any questions please email me!

Report Cards will be going home on Thursday, March 20th. I can't believe we will begin our LAST nine weeks! Where did the year go? As always, anyone with questions please do not hesitate to email me or call me. Anyone in need of a conference can schedule one with me.

Our class field trip will be on Thursday March 20th. All students will bring a sack lunch that day. No plastic containers or thermos that day! A BIG thank you goes out to Mrs. Higgins, Mr. Ward, Mrs. Brown, and Mrs. Brooks for agreeing to chaperone our trip!!

Carnival night is coming! Thursday March 20th at 5:00p.m. get your hot dog tickets now! We will only sell them up until the 14th of March. YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO PURCHASE THOSE TICKETS FOR HOT DOGS ON THE NIGHT OF THE CARNIVAL!!

In Reading we are reviewing this week for the district required reading assessment that we will be taking later this week. Next week we are working on conclusions along with visualizing. We will continue to work on the controlled r vowel sound.

In math we spent some time revisiting strategies so we could prepare for our district assessment. We will continue to work on shapes and move into adding and subtracting double digit numbers! PLEASE PRACTICE MATH FACTS AT HOME. I went over them again this week and they struggled with them!

 

In Social Studies we will be learning about goods and services.

We will be taking our District Required Science Assessment this week. The following week we will be exploring Physical Science. (Pushes and Pulls)

We are recycling all magazines, newspapers, capri suns, ink cartridges, and cell phones at this time. Please bring in any of these items and we will recycle them for you!
