We are busy working on Unit 2 in reading. We are continuing to work on answering our weekly essential question along with studying the different genres. Each week we compare fiction to non-fiction text using thinking maps. We are working on singular and plural nouns, short e, short u, and beginning blends. We also will be learning about antonyms and continue to work on statement and questions.
In Math we are busy continuing to reinforce math strategies. We finished learning about "making a ten" strategy using hands on activities that help reinforce these skills. Next week we will work on adding 3 addends. Constent reinforcement of strategies will help them become great problem solvers in Math!
In Social Studies we finished learning about Christopher Columbus this week and will be learning out time lines next week. *Look for a project letter that will be coming home!
In Science we are learning about snakes, bats and owls. The following week we are going to continue to explore various creepy crawly creatures along with exploring "nocturnal" animals.
We are recycling all magazines, newspapers, capri suns, ink cartridges, and cell phones at this time. Please bring in any of these items and we will recycle them for you!
