The Kindergarten classes will be celebrating the upcoming summer by participating in a fun day on Tuesday, May 18th (my 25th wedding anniversary J). After the awards ceremony and activity time, we will be going outside (weather permitting) to participate in some fun summer activities with our kindergarten friends. We will also be celebrating summer with a pizza party that day for lunch so you do not need to send a lunch or lunch money with your child, we will be eating in the classroom and the cost of the pizza has already been covered. We are going to be celebrating our summer birthdays with a special birthday cake which will include summer birthday names. Parents are needed to help out from 9am (set-up) til 11:15 (clean-up) and then you are free to go and enjoy the rest of the day. This is the last full day of kindergarten, on Wednesday, May 20th, we will begin early dismissal days.
If you have heard rumors about an upcoming pajama day, you will have to stay posted on this one. The students have requested to participate in a class pajama day so I have sent in my negotiation team and we have come up with the following compromise or great deal. If the students can earn the letters to spell “pajama” before Thursday, then we will have a pajama day on Thursday, May 20th. They told me that I could even wear my pajamas. If they meet their goal , then the students will be allowed to wear their pajamas on Thursday and bring along a stuffed animal to visit our classroom. I will provide a popcorn snack and a movie so if they want to bring a blanket and stretch out on the floor, that will be fine. Please remember that this event will depend on whether they earn it between now and Wednesday at closing so look for an email Wednesday afternoon as to whether or not pajamas will be the attire on Thursday.
Lunch in Classrooms
Due to other events being held in the cafeteria, the following dates have been assigned as “eat in your classroom” dates: Thursday 20th, and Friday 21st. This is just a “heads up” in case you were planning on coming and eating lunch with your child out in the foyer area under the umbrella’s, these dates may be a little bit more crowded than normal so you may want to plan accordingly.
