VERY IMPORTANT>>>Field Trip
The permission slip and payment for our field trip to the pizza gallery was due today, Feb. 5th. There are still some students who have not returned their information. Please send this in when returning the Friday folder on Monday. If there is a situation where you are unable to pay at this time, please contact me and we can look at some options but this needs to be asap. We will be going to Pizza Gallery on Feb. 23rd. The cost of the trip will be $7 and that includes pizza, drink, tip and transportation fee. Chaperones have already been contacted for this trip. Since we will be going to a public business during non-business hours, only students and chaperones assigned to the trip will be permitted inside. Thank you in advance for your cooperation in this matter. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me.
On Friday February 12th, we will celebrate “friends and friendship”. Our day will focus on the theme around “friends´ and “friendship”. We will be reading several stories about friendship as well as participating in activities with our friends. Each student will be given the opportunity to pass out friendship cards if they want to. There are two rules for giving out friendship cards: 1) if you plan on passing out cards, then everyone will need to receive a card. 2) Please do NOT address the cards, only put who they are from on the outside. We will celebrate our special day with a very low key “cookies and punch” snack sometime during our special day. Your child may begin bringing in their friendship cards on Monday.
If you have volunteered in the classroom, completed projects at home, chaperoned a field trip, volunteered at a school event, or have helped in any way, then mark your calendar for this Friday, Feb. 12th at 8:15. A special tea is being held in your honor for all of the work that you have done. Please plan on attending this event being held especially for Manatee volunteers.
Mark your calendars for Thursday, March 4th from 5-8 pm to come out and have dinner while you support our kindergarten at the same time. Manatee will be hosting a Chick-Fil-A night at the local Chick-Fil-a store in Viera on Wickham road. The Kindergarten classes will be receiving a percentage of the sales to use within the grade level. Come out and support Manatee on March 4th and have dinner while you watch your teacher work!!! I will be busy greeting, passing out goodies/prizes, making milkshakes and a little bit of everything. I hope to see you there.
Kindergarten Performance…Mark your calendars!!!
Do you feel like you have “Jungle Fever”? Well there is a reason for that, I have breaking news: Please mark your calendars for Thursday, March 25th @ 5:30. The kindergarten will be performing the musical “Welcome to the Jungle” and you will not want to miss this. The program will begin at 5:30 but the students will need to arrive to the classroom at 5:00. Since we have 7 kindergarten classes, 3 classes will perform at 5:30 and the other 4 classes will perform at 6:30. The show will last approximately 30 min. which will give us time to exit before the next group of eager parents arrive. I am beginning the process of assigning parts and costumes. I will let you know which jungle animal your child will be. We have the hats that go along with the play so you will only need to provide clothing of a specific color to reflect your child’s animal. More news to come soon so stay tuned!
Please remember that we have snack time every day and your child is responsible for bringing in their own daily snack. Please make this a part of your morning routine or have it as part of your nighttime routine to put it in the backpack the night before.
Don’t forget to keep clipping saving and sending in the following items:
Box Tops, Campbell Soup Labels, Capri Sun Pouches & Pop Tops
Manatee will continue to collect General Mills box tops and the UPC from Campbell soup labels all year long as well as Capri Sun pouches. This is a great, easy way that you can help our PTO fund requests for classroom materials and manipulative request from teachers. Clipping these items will only cost you minimal time and effort. We are also collecting pop top tabs as we support the Ronald McDonald house through tab donations.
