NO SCHOOL NEXT WEEK
Don’t’ forget, Next week (March 29-April 2nd) is SPRING BREAK…NO SCHOOL FOR STUDENTS. Students will return to school bright and early on Monday, April 5 at 7:50 a.m.. Enjoy this time of relaxing, refreshing, and refueling with your child as they prepare to return for the last 35 days of school.
“Welcome to the Jungle”
What a FABULOUS PERFORMANCE the students gave on Thursday evening as they welcomed you to their jungle. I will have to say that it was the best of the best for any of the practices that they did. I was very pleased with each student and the personal best that they put forth in their role. A lot of time, effort, and practice was put into their performance. Thanks parents for your support in getting them here on time, following directions for photographing and especially for pick up. This was the best dismissal that we have done in the 7 years and a big thanks to you for making that happen. As always safety is our main goal and the dismissal procedure allowed me to safely find you and return your precious gem back to you. Thanks again for a great evening.
Hitting the Books 2010
I jumped the mark in the last K-Connection and stated that this week was the last week to turn in your “Hitting the Books 2010” forms that will earn your child 2 free tickets to a Manatee game. Technically, since there is still one week left in March, you can return the forms when you come back from spring break. That will give you plenty of time to get the last 10 books in. Just a reminder, don’t’ forget to fill out the 10 book titles between each base to score a home run and put your name on the paper before returning the form back to Mrs. McLellan. I will issue a certificate that will be good for 2 free tickets to a Tuesday evening Manatee game.
Please remember that we have snack time every day and your child is responsible for bringing in their own daily snack. Please make this a part of your morning routine or have it as part of your nighttime routine to put it in the backpack the night before.
NEW KINDERGARTEN ORIENTATION
Kindergarten Orientation for new kindergarteners for next year will be held on Thursday, April 20th at 6:00 p.m. If you have a child who will be starting Kindergarten in August, please call the school office to confirm that you are coming to the meeting. You can also call the office if you are not sure of what school your child will attend due to redistricting.
Keep clipping, saving and sending in the following items:
Box Tops, Campbell Soup Labels, Capri Sun Pouches & Pop Tops
Manatee will continue to collect General Mills box tops and the UPC from Campbell soup labels all year long as well as Capri Sun pouches. This is a great, easy way that you can help our PTO fund requests for classroom materials and manipulative request from teachers. Clipping these items will only cost you minimal time and effort. We are also collecting pop top tabs as we support the Ronald McDonald house through tab donations.
