We have been using Thinking Maps in our classroom for some time now, but lately, we have been using them all the time! Please ask your child about these maps and some ways we have been using them. You will be surprised!

Reading: No story this week – we will be reviewing various Reading FCAT Skills using district provided materials. Please look for these this week, as your child will be bringing this home for you to review.

Spelling: No spelling this week

Math: We will begin Chapter 24, Subtracting Fractions this week. Our Chapter 24 Test on Subtracting Fractions will be on Friday, February 26^th. Additionally, we will take a look at Chapter 27, Decimals and possibly have a quiz on that chapter by Friday, the 26^th.

We will also work on some FCAT Math Review materials provided by the district. Your child will bring this booklet home as well. As always, please take some extra time to review homework with your child as the upcoming concepts that we will be looking at can be difficult. As always, please keep working on those math facts!

Science and Social Studies: We will continue to review previous chapters and focus on some important key ideas in science. In social studies, we will continue to read about the Development of Florida and review various map skills.
