Happy October!

WOW! October already! Here are the High Frequency Words your children should know: we, the, like, a, am, and I. During the month of September we covered the recognition and sounds of the letters, M, S, A, and now P. Please practice the words and sounds at home. Also CVC words with those sounds, for example, s-a-m, P-a-m, a-s, a-m.

Coming to you on e-mail each week! If you are not receiving our reading assignments please let me know. Remember math comes home at the end of each Topic for review.

Week 8/7 to 8/10

We worked very hard this quick week on the letter "M'. Also learned how families come in many different ways and discussed being a member of a family. Along with our families we discussed animal families too. During Math time we used manipulatives to sort objects by one or more attribute. Parents, our students are VERY hungry at snack time! It's a long hard morning. Please send a hearty healthy snack with them. If anyone is planning a trip to Sam's and would like to contribute a large container of animal crackers, pretzels, etc, it would be greatly appreciated.

Math Packets

Math papers go home on the Fridays when we complete a Math Topic. August 27th the papers for Topic 3 [Numbers 1 to 5] went home in the Friday folders. They do not need to be returned. They are a review and practice to be done at home with parents. Please do them with your child at your leisure and recognize what skills they should have mastered and practice those that can use a bit more reinforcement. We will also soon begin sending a reading homework assignment for your child via e-mail in an effort to save paper.

We did it!

We made it through an entire week of Kindergarten. Our members were tired by Thursday. After learning all about numbers 1 through 5, letters, PE, Music, Art, Media, and life in a cafeteria they were ready for a weekend. Thank you to all parents that visited the Ice Cream Social and to those that have started the volunteer process. Don't forget to return the Friday folders and a healthy snack each day.

Starting Monday August 23rd our class lunch time will begin at 12:00.

Welcome to Kindergarten!
